The Khyber Survives a Brush With Municipality

On Tuesday, September 9th, 2014, the Halifax Municipal Council passed a motion by Waye Mason to take The Khyber off the “surplus status” death-list. After weeks of rallying and campaigning for support, it seems the people’s voices and hard work of the Khyber Arts Society (KAS) spirited a huge win for the Khyber Arts Society.

A Monthly Update

We wanted to extend a gracious thank-you for all the feedback and communication we’ve been engaged with while testing the waters over the last month. In return, we wanted to extend a promise and commitment to continue to do our damnedest to hunt down Atlantic Canada’s best kept secrets.

Trust us folks: it’s all good stress, and we’re having a blast doing it.

Learning To Be Nicer

Dave Lahey (Guitar/Vocals) and Shaun McCabe (Drums/Vocals) do well to fill any potential emptiness left by their minimalist setup with a deceivingly large sound, memorable songwriting, and a streak of ambitious activity to compliment their debut release.

Residents of Brazil Street (St. John’s, NL) didn’t know what they had comin’ to them when the “Party On Da Amazon” Backyard BBQ Bash got underway last Sunday (August 24th, 2014).

The tightly squeezed hill of row houses rumbled with the sounds of seven very diverse acts ranging from Punk Rock and Noise to Psych Rock and Hip-Hop.
