For nearly a quarter of a century, the Festival of New Dance has been attracting audiences from all over Newfoundland to St. John’s for a expo of many styles of dance. For a city and province that can sometimes be described as “starved” for a variety of entertainment, The Festival of New Dance’s is bringing together a diverse repertoire of acts.
The CEEBS Skate Competition took place September 20th, 2014 at the Courts in Conception Bay South, Newfoundland.

The band’s name comes from a British TV series created by Neil Gaiman, called Neverwhere. The series is set in “London Below” which is a magical realm that co-exists with the real world “London Above”.
You can catch London Above on October 10th at MUN’s campus bar, The Breezeway. Or almost anywhere else in downtown St. John’s where live music is played.
Trees Speak Breeze is an alternative indie-rock project hailing from Halifax, Nova Scotia. What started as a teenager’s basement solo project has recently transformed into something much greater; a full band, indie-rock anomaly. I sat down with Josh Horner, the backbone of the group to get the scoop on where the project is going.
For the last two months we’ve stressed our intention to build a platform where you call the shots and tell us what’s cool around Atlantic Canada. In an ongoing effort to follow through with this plan In Case You Missed It is back for round two.
Once again, we are looking to you folks for a capture (picture, video, blurb etc.) from any event in Atlantic Canada you wish to share with us. We’ll be featuring our favourite entries on the site.
Kestrels stopped by the basement studio of Suvla Estates to play a few tracks from of their newest release The Moon is Shining Our Way and indulge us with some of the band’s recent happenings. The last year has been a busy one for Kestrels; releasing their latest [and aforementioned] EP on Sonic Unyon, recording with Alex Bonenfant at The Dream House and beginning work on the upcoming third LP.
