Last August, as we each recovered from our respective long-weekend hangovers, Not You released the single “haha” and steadily built anticipation for their next move. After developing a loyal following and gaining attention at Halifax Pop Explosion and Pop Montreal, the band is set to launch their six song debut Misty ahead of a summer tour and an appearance at Lawnya Vawnya in St. John’s, NL. 

Not You carries the storied talents of Nancy Urich (Dog Day, The Burdocks), Rebecca Young (Soaking Up Jagged, Pastoralia), Meg Yoshida (Bad Vibrations) and Stephanie Johns (The Stolen Minks, Moon).

Over the course of Misty, Not You reinvigorate the classic sound of ‘90s shoegaze and indie rock with kinetic guitarwork, floating vocal harmonies, and an eerie and enticing hypnotic sway. Their blend of sounds and backgrounds comes together in what they affectionately refer to as “slippergaze.”
