The Figgy Duff Discography is Now on Spotify and Apple Music
There isn’t much else to say, really. Everything you need to know is right there in the headline.
The complete discography of the iconic folk rock band that has been the definitive soundtrack in many Newfoundland homes for over forty years is now finally available to stream on Spotify and Apple Music.
7 Figgy Duff albums, beginning with their self-titled Figgy Duff LP in 1980, and including their Retrospective Collection 1974-1993 and Live Silver Reunion, can now be readily played on your digital devices. Hell, maybe you can teach your folks how to use a bluetooth speaker and take their kitchen parties to the next level.
Although the group had a revolving lineup of noteworthy players since their inception in the mid 1970s, the integral force behind Figgy Duff was the creative partnership of Noel Dinn and Pamela Morgan. Following Dinn’s passing in 1993, Figgy Duff soon ceased activity, with the exception of three reunions in 1999, 2008 and 2016.
If you’re not familiar with the work of Figgy Duff, albeit you’re a mainlander, or for some other reason you were deprived of the Duff in your Newfoundland upbringing, now is the perfect time to dive into their catalogue.
Figgy Duff were affectionately named after the traditional bag pudding that your grandmother probably served with her Jiggs dinner. The name is accurate, as the songs hit you right in your nostalgic feels much in the same way your warm grandmudder’s dish would.
