You should probably know by now that one of the most exciting live acts St. John’s has housed in the last number of years are throwing their final party this Friday, June 18th at Distortion. We started coping with the untimely loss of Jonny & The Cowabungas with last weeks Bye Bye Bungas Pt. 1 in which we began compiling our fondest memories from the unreleased Secret East TV archives.

In these times of mourning, we always prefer to remember the good times and celebrate the spirit of such young and carefree souls. May The Cowabungas have the blessing of going out just as they lived; relatively buzzed on a sweaty stage, hammering out surfadelic dance numbers while dodging the flailing limbs of enthused onlookers.

For part 2 of our Bye Bye Bungas series, we pieced together what beer soaked footage we could salvage from The Cowabungas chaotic closing number at the Secret East Double Feature. Check out “Lady Death” in all its reckless glory.
