Since Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age has made headlines for kicking a photographer in the head, cutting himself with a knife, and berating a California audience, perhaps St. John’s can feel less bad about that time they pelted him with shoes in 2008.
Within the last few weeks, a bedraggled VHS tape surfaced containing some vital footage of Newfoundland’s punk rock history. Though recovering the previously unseen video was anything but a clean process, our pal Alex Rumboldt got his hands dirty for the greater good of archiving this fundamental tape.
As a Secret East salute to the recent passing of the Austrian strongman and wrestling icon Otto Wanz, we dug up some footage of him going belly-to-belly with Newfoundland wrestling legend Sailor White in 1981.
