The Parting Glass: R.I.P. Chuck Lewis of the Masterless Men
There will be a notable absence of a powerful voice in the Newfoundland music community from here on out. After a brave battle with leukemia, Chuck Lewis of the Masterless Men has passed away this weekend at the age of 44.
Lewis’s family obituary states that “Chuck passed away surrounded by his loving family to the sounds of Irish music at the Health Sciences Center, St. John’s on February 24th, 2019″.
“Chuck Lewis can lend his powerful voice to a masterful rousing hand-clapping, toe-tapping song,” his Masterless Men colleagues described him during his tenure with the band. “And a moment later, he can deliver a love song with tenderness and emotion.”
Visitation will take place at Caul’s Funeral Home in Torbay on Tuesday, February 26.
So sad to hear of Chuck Lewis’s passing. He was such a memorable part of an amazing band. Sending lots of love to his family and friends. @masterlessmen https://t.co/NLwYRwRZgE

Hard to find words to describe this loss. My heart is with Chuck’s wife Lou Ann and his family. Rest in Peace, my friend.
