Artist Applications are Open for the First Out of Earshot Festival
Applications are now open for St. John’s newest music and arts festival.
Out of Earshot is a fresh and inspiring community-based St. John’s festival that expresses dedication to “showcasing DIY and emerging Canadian bands and artists”, and takes particular aim on creating “supportive spaces for the performance and appreciation of multiple art forms”.
There has been a shed-sized void left in the St. John’s summer schedule since the final chapter of Shed Island in 2016, and the music community has been eager to see it filled ever since.
The inaugural edition of Out of Earshot will be held from August 23rd-25th in St. John’s, and the artist submissions have already begun pouring in.
Out of Earshot is calling on musicians, artists and performers of all genres and mediums to apply, and they would like to encourage applicants with multiple skills or current projects to include as many as they would like on their applications. Aside from artists and performers, Out of Earshot is also open to “workshop, panel and other creative event ideas”.
Applications can be found here, and they will remain open until April 6th.
Don’t sleep on the opportunity to be apart of an exciting first in the St. John’s music and arts community this summer!
