Stay “Wide Awake” with CONDITIONER’s New Video
CONDITIONER are St. John’s latest powerhouse of pop punk and a fresh iteration from a familiar wheelhouse. Following the recent release of their debut EP, CONDITIONER have gifted us with a music video comprised of fuzzy found footage from throwback TV commercials. The bleary-eyed feels of wading knee deep in late night nostalgia is something we can heavily relate to here at Secret East, and so is the display of affection for brief and tasty punk rock songs.
Carrying over the dual guitar duties of Derek Ashley and Glen May of Mount Pearl pop punk pillars Pockethands, CONDITIONER are rounded out with a thunderous rhythm section featuring Jessica Gibson (Yee Grlz, Glib) on bass and Nick Giles (Coward, Branch Ricky) on Drums.
While it is almost never necessary for a punk unit to be airtight, CONDITIONER are fine-tuned and focused in what they’re delivering. With many demos, debuts and initial eponymous efforts typically stirring an uncertainty in direction, CONDITIONER hits every second with purpose in their fastened introductory release. There is no overcompensating flab or filler, yet the entrée is a tad tastier than your typical plate of meat and potatoes. Both the new CONDITIONER song and EP are short and sweet and leaves us hungry for more.
