#Newsbag: PC of NL Leadership Race Preheats to 375°F

Crumpled Atlantic Canadian headlines and news clippings fetched from our waste bins and neatly delivered in the Secret East #Newsbag…

Newfoundland & Labrador PC leadership hopeful Ches Crosbie offers his secret ingredients to a successful campaign…

3 medium-sized sweet potatoes, 5 tablespoons of cooking oil, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of cumin, 1 teapsoon of ground coriander, 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika.

That is right folks, that sweet smell of success is actually Ches Crosbie’s famous sweet potato fry recipe, and if you sign up for his newsletter, you too may get a taste of victory.

Look out Ches Barbour, there is a new Ches who knows his chips…

VOCM has reported that, according to Crosbie’s Communications and Policy Advisor Devin Drover, “the recipes included in their regular newsletters are part of an intentional strategy”, and that “Crosbie is very interested in great recipes and good food and always includes that as part of his regular newsletter”.

PC leadership opponent Tony Wakeham took to twitter to respond:

While Mr. Wakeham attempts to carve up some beef on twitter, Newfoundland & Labrador continues to lead national statistics in obesity, so maybe Crosbie is onto something.

Speaking of big numbers, Crosbie currently leads Wakeham in the most recent popularity pole for PC leadership conducted in late January by MQO research.

So as the leadership race begins to pre-heat to 375°F, maybe it is time for Wakeham to take the heat and get back in the kitchen for this NL PC cook-off.

While Crosbie has promised moose sausages for next months newsletter, we personally can’t wait for Ches’s Choice Chicken special.

Besides, not everything delicious labelled PC has to be President’s Choice…

Does it?
