A Cowabunga wedding with a honeymoon tour kickoff, local short film Flankers now available for full stream, local emcee MAK11 drops debut video and prepares for Random Sound, Trouble Bound Studio presents St. John’s first ever tattoo convention, mainstay rock venue Distortion turns 9, and Neon Satori prepare another family-friendly and free afternoon EDM party at Bannerman park.
St. John’s gets a premiere of the first skate video produced by industry legends Vans. The screening takes place at 6PM on May 10th at the LSPU Hall, and will be accompanied by a performance from local surf-punkers Jonny & The Cowabungas.
The fifth edition of Lawnya Vawnya kicks off tonight at The Republic with a show featuring Jonny & the Cowabungas, Quidi Video, and Halifax’s Vulva Culture. The festival is a boon for the St John’s music scene: a showcase for killer local acts and exciting come-from-aways.
